Release date

Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026. It’s coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not announced a PC release date — historically the PC version arrives well after console, but nothing is confirmed, so treat any PC date you see as a rumor.

Where it’s set: Leonida and Vice City

GTA 6 returns to Vice City, Rockstar’s take on Miami, now set inside the wider fictional state of Leonida. The trailers show neon beaches, the Everglades-style wetlands, swamps, and the city itself — a bigger, denser world than any GTA before it. See what’s shown in our map & setting guide.

The two protagonists: Jason and Lucia

For the first time in the series, GTA 6 has two playable leads — and one of them, Lucia, is the series’ first female protagonist. The trailers frame Jason and Lucia as a modern Bonnie-and-Clyde couple, tangled up in crime and in each other. Single-player at launch

At launch, GTA 6 is a single-player experience. There’s no separate online mode confirmed for day one — so the wild launch-week moments everyone will be clipping are the funny, chaotic single-player ones: physics, NPCs, chases, and glitches. (That’s exactly the stuff we feature — submit yours.)

What’s confirmed vs what’s rumored

This is where most “GTA 6 news” gets messy. We keep a running, honest split:

What we’re still waiting on

Rockstar hasn’t confirmed the exact launch-day unlock time, the full map size, the vehicle and weapon rosters, or a PC date. As those land — officially — we update this page and the database the same day.
