GTA 6 release date & countdown: everything confirmed

Short answer: GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no announced PC date yet.

That’s the one date to circle. Everything below is what’s confirmed, what’s coming before launch, and what’s still a question mark.

The confirmed dates

• November 19, 2026 — worldwide launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
• August 27, 2026 — Rockstar and Netflix drop an “extended look” at the game, to Netflix subscribers first, at 3pm ET. It’s the biggest official beat left before launch.

What we still don’t know

• A PC release date. Rockstar hasn’t announced one. Across past GTA titles, the PC version has landed a year or more after console — so plan for consoles first.
• Preload date and file size. Not announced. When Rockstar posts them, they’ll show up here and in our news feed.
• Exact unlock time by region. GTA launches usually unlock at midnight local time or on a global clock. We’ll post the exact per-timezone unlock as soon as it’s confirmed.

Why single-player-first matters

GTA 6 ships as a single-player experience at launch — there’s no GTA Online 6 on day one. For clips, that means the early viral moments are solo: physics chaos, NPC reactions, glitches, and cinematic near-misses. If you’re planning launch-day content, that’s the meta to lean into.
